Dr Alexa Jane Croffey MBChB (Hons) is a fully certified GMC registered doctor. She graduated from Liverpool Medical School with the highest accreditation of Honours, before completing her foundation years in rotations across the Oxford Deanery. She went on to work in Acute Medicine at Barts and The London Hospital Trust, while undertaking training in Aesthetic Medicine at the prestigious Harley Street Institute.
She offers a wide variety of treatments including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and lip enhancement. Advanced procedures include treatment for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), bruxism, jaw-reduction, gummy-smile and brow lift, as well as facial contouring and non-surgical Rhinoplasty. Her extensive knowledge of facial anatomy and fine-tuned practical skills allow her to create a treatment plan tailored to meet your individual needs.
TREATMENTS
ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
Ageing is a natural process. Factors that can affect how fast we age such as sun exposure, smoking and alcohol are lifestyle choices we can modify, however as we get older and the skin loses volume and elasticity, the appearance of fine-lines and wrinkles start to develop.
Anti-wrinkle injections contain a medicated toxin that when injected into a muscle, blocks the nerve signal causing the muscle to relax. If injected into facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the skin such as frown lines and 'crows feet', it can significantly reduce their appearance giving a more youthful look. Different doses can be used depending on the desired effect, whether that is complete relaxation of facial expression or subtle softening of movement.
The most common problem areas are the forehead, glabella (frown lines) and eye corners (crows feet).
DERMAL FILLERS
As we age, the loss of elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid causes loss of volume from the face, giving the appearance of 'sagging' skin and lines in areas that used to be plump and smooth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that draws moisture into tissue, When this gel-like substance is injected into the skin, it increases hydration and promotes collagen synthesis which can replenish lost volume and smooth lines. Over time the body will naturally dissolve and absorb the filler while helping to restore your own natural collagen. Results are instant and should last 6-12 months depending on the area treated.
LIP ENHANCEMENT
Lip fillers have become a popular way of enhancing the shape, body and fullness of the lips. Whether the aim is to restore lost-volume from the ageing process or to augment the lips for cosmetic desire, Dr Alexa Jane will use her skills to advise the quantity and shape that will best suit your face. Using the same process as described in the dermal fillers section, hyaluronic acid is injected into the lips to plump and define.
NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY
Non-surgical Rhinoplasty (commonly referred to as 'the 15 minute nose job') can correct a variety of nose defects. Dermal filler can be used to straighten, re-shape and lift the tip of the nose. Each nose is individual and should balance your own facial features. Dr Alexa Jane will tailor the procedure to your individual needs and treatment goals. Results can last up to 1 year.
PROFHILO
Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. It causes stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin resulting in significant tissue improvement. Initial results are hydration effects in the skin, and over the course of 6-8 weeks it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
ADVANCED PROCEDURES
Dr Alexa Jane offers advanced procedures for the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), bruxism, jaw-reduction, gummy-smile and brow-lift, as well as tear trough filler and full facial contouring.
